The Epson TM-T20 USB Receipt Printer can be purchased from RTS and is quick and easy to set up configure in the RTS application.

Connecting the Printer to the Computer

Your Epson TM T-20 should have come with a USB-A to USB-B (USB Printer cable) and a power cable.

On the back of your printer, you will see 3 connectors: The DK port for a cash drawer, the USB-B, and the power.

Connect the other end of the USB cable to your Terminal, and the power into a power socket.

Connecting a Cash Drawer to the Printer

If your cash drawer is able to be connected to your printer, it should have an RJ11 jack pictured below:

To connect your cash drawer to your printer, plug the RJ11 jack from your cash drawer into the DK port on the back of your printer.

Telling RTS to Use the Printer

After hooking the printer up to the computer, you will still need to tell RTS to use the printer. There are no drivers nessicarry for this printer. To set it up, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Setup -> Local Computer

    Rts setup localComputer connections epsonUsbString.png

  2. Ensure you are in the Connections Tab
  3. Under the Connection Dropdown box for your Ticket, Receipt, and Credit Card rows, select the USB String option. It will look something like USB:\\?\usb#vid_aaaa&pid_aaa#aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa#{aaaaaaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaaaaaaaaaa}

  4. If your Cash Drawer is connected to your printer, or the DK port on your computer, select the USB String as the connection next to the Drawer

The Epson TM-T20 does not need drivers to work with RTS, but there are cases where you may want the Printer setup in Windows as a printer as well. For this, you can install the Advanced Printer Driver from Epson, available here.
